Fancy Figments

The dashing gentleman thief victimizing then wooing the heroine is a stock of countless cheesy romantic novels, very familiar to an aficionado like Cvet. Normally she’s too sensible to anticipate being the subject of such a fanciful escapade. But what fair heroine wouldn’t have her heart skip a beat when suddenly robbed of her sight and voice by a figure in the dark of her hotel room, only to be reassured by a gentlemanly voice that she would be alright? Even blindfolded, Cvet can easily visualize the scruffy hunk who abducted and trussed her up all so skillfully, letting the barest hint of his cologne tantalize her scents. Now cvet waits in eager anticipation for when she arrives at the safe house. Perhaps he’ll reveal whatever noble intentions forced him to resort to such villainy as abducting a minor princess? Or maybe even confess his uncontrollable infatuation he’s developed for her in the few hours they’ve known eachother for!

The reality of course, is far more mundane. The caper was actually a bungled robbery carried out by bumbling Francois Chevalier and his Ragamuffin partner Amelie, turned into an opportunistic abduction for ransom after they ran into Cvet in the dark. Both far from the fanciful heartthrob she imagined. As happy as the two of them are to have pulled this off, they can’t help but wonder what exactly is wrong with this airheaded ginger princess from up north as to make her so...amenable to being kidnapped.

Turned out really great, and really appreciate the fun little situation! Though I can already imagine the face Cvet is going to make when she realizes who was behind this little stunt.
